Metal Metabolism and Resistance Gene Primers

LCPDb-MET, covering metal metabolism and resistance genes, is a subset of LCPDb - here we present primers extracted from published papers and analysed by our pipeline.

Primers amplifying merA gene

Select a cluster first

Primers in LCPDb-MET were evaluated against potential gene subclusters. Briefly, naming convention of genes involved in metals metabolism and resistance (MMRGs) was not standardized in the past, and as a result of that multiple sequences with different metabolic capabilities were assigned the same gene name. Because of that it was impossible to correctly evaluate PCR primers. Therefore, we decided to divide those gene sequences based on their domain and motif profiles and that created the potential gene subclusters.

If you do not have a reference sequence you are planning to detect, use the best primer from each cluster. If you have a reference sequence, you can test it below to see what cluster you are interested in.

You can use this input field to align your sequence to the reference sequences to check for the most similar cluster.
